Tico is a special case. He has lived for many years as a ‘community’ dog in a local village – owned by no-one but fed and watched over by everyone. Because of his age and general condition, Natasha (our shelter manager) was asked for her opinion – was he suffering? A visit to the vet confirmed that he has several normal issues linked to old age, but no, he isn’t suffering. He is staying at the shelter for now so we can keep an eye on him – winter weather is coming and he certainly seems to be enjoying a comfy bed so he is welcome to stay as long as he is happy to.
